It’s a heartbreaking time. Many businesses have temporarily shut their doors and employees told to stay home. For this past week, I have been wanting to stop at the local mall to capture the emptiness, but I kept asking myself, “is it worth it?” Today I decided to stop. While it’s a terrible time, I felt that we still need to take record of it. To be able to look back and see how bad it was. A year from now, will we think of this time like a dream? Will we be back to our old selves and forget all about the rush to the grocery stores? Or will things like being able to enjoy walking between all the stores at the mall feel insignificant? These photos capture businesses forced to close, leaving their merchandise ready for when things normalize again, uncertain as to what will happen next.
