Who I Am

I’m Dustin Wood, and I’ve been a photographer all my life. Well, I’ve at least always wanted to take photos as far back as being 2 years old. It wasn’t until college though before I started to really learn about photography. Since then I’ve been learning and teaching myself as much about photography as I can.

I’ve created this blog as an extension of Instagram. The one thing I don’t like about the platform is that you can only see the photos as a small preview, whether it be on your phone or even on the desktop. When I edit my photos, I feel good about the ones I choose to post to Instagram, but then I get disappointed because a lot of the details are lost once I actually post them.

That’s where this blog comes in. It won’t replace Instagram, this will merely be a place where I won’t feel guilty about posting several photos that are similar to one another. Each post will contain multiple photos and may contain thoughts and/or ideas about some of the photos. But the main thing, these photos will be large. You’ll be able to see the photos as close to the way as I’d want you to see them as possible.

I have several plans for this blog that go beyond just posting some of my favorite photos. I have multiple film cameras that I plan to use and will post those photos with a little review about my process. Things I’ve learned, things I wish I would have done, and what I think about shooting with the camera and it’s film.

I hope you’ll follow along with me as I travel down this new path.
