A few years ago I was looking for a good 35mm film camera. I wanted something professional, but not modern. I wanted it to be a full manual camera. No auto winding of the film, no auto exposure, no auto focus.
I settled on the Canon AE-1. It seemed to be the camera that checked all those boxes. I set out to find one on ebay, and came across this AE-1 Program. Without realizing the Program was even different than just the standard AE-1, I went ahead and purchased it.
Come to find out that the Program is different. The bad news is the Program has automatic shutter and aperture priority. The good news is, I don’t have to use it. While I have an AE-1 Program, I only use it like an AE-1. Full manual everything.
